2003.September.03
----------------------------- I'll be out of the country for a few weeks, in a remote part of Ghana, so FCG is going on hiatus. The timing is interesting; this week marks two years since I stopped shopping at big corporate grocery stores, and I can definitely say my quality of life has improved. Now, I'll be in a developing country, visiting their markets and probably considering food in a whole new way. I'm going there to document - with photographs and film - the construction of an AIDS hospital, and will return on September 18. * posted by j3s 2003.September.03Awesome! Of course the irony is that people in developing countries envy the heck out of our huge corporate grocery stores because they are a sign of abundance. * posted by blork september 5, 2003 09:56 amGood luck to you in Ghana ... keep us posted on your progress there! * posted by The Mother september 6, 2003 06:28 pmGood on yer! Only just discovered your blog, but I'll be back. * posted by Gael september 8, 2003 09:53 amGood luck and god bless... I've been enjoying your blog for a long time, and you make me miss living in a big city with many ethnic food options almost every day (in a good way). * posted by david september 9, 2003 10:32 pmThanks so much for the support, you guys. I have a lot more to say about Ghanaian shops, the agriculture there, markets...in time. Thanks again, it was wonderful to come home (over two weeks disconnected from email!) to find such kind words. * posted by j3s september 20, 2003 07:21 pmPost a comment
